U ser review:
This is a wonderful family film. Here's a tip for Hollywood. My friend and I go to a matinée pretty much every week. There are sometimes, at most, a dozen, sometimes a half dozen, people in the theater. For this one? The room was a good half full. Now tell me why Hollywood insists on producing nasty, foul, poorly-written and acted pieces of trash all the time? Really. Anyway, this one gives you so much to think about. There are several instances of symbolism in this picture that took my breath away, that brought me to tears. Well written, well-acted, this one is so worth seeing. I am anxious to see it again and trust me, that isn't often the case. I took away from that theater a new feeling and I've thought about several of the lines of dialogue many times since. The truth and the trust of this picture will stay with you. I know it did me. I am always surprised by Tim McGraw. The man can surely sing, but he can also act. He's a natural. Octavia Spencer seems to be in about every movie there is lately – well, not quite but still – however, there is a reason. She is wonderful. She brings her role to life every time. And she most certainly did in this one. Trust me, this is one you want to see. Take your family. Take your friends. Or go alone. Doesn't matter. Just see it.

Muchacho en la barra se masturba con rabia y osadía 2015

Muchacho en la barra se masturba con rabia y osadía 2015
19min | Documentary , Short , Biography | March 2015 (Mexico)
Storyline:
Dance and prostitution play the same role for Jonathan's body; virtuosity, desire, technique, and sex intertwine, granting coherence to a way of life that offers many answers to few questions; a leitmotiv that reconciles opposites and contradictions; answers that are sometimes painful, like all truths.
User review:
Fans of the mind and certainly the body of dancer / escort Cristhian Rodríguez of the explicit short Bramadero fame, will no doubt delight in this telling biopic of the man himself. Intercut with direct-to-camera interviews, together with dramatized sequences of his sexual encounters in the night, this is in effect an insightful documentary on the hopes and ambitions of a young man who funds his dance training by way of sex; either as a stripper or as a rent boy. That he's more than happy to do so gives way to the title, as Rodríguez takes to the go-go stage, dancing on top of a bar, even if the masturbation in question is implied; rather than seen.
Still there's no denying that Rodríguez is a fascinating subject, happy to talk in detail about his love of dance and the dance troupes that have fine-tuned the natural talent, he clearly has. Yet what I found most poignant were his recollections of growing up in a homophobic environment in which he did not realize that men could be affectionate with each other; namely that a loving relationship is possible between two men.

Night Swimming 2005

Night Swimming 2005

Storyline:
A night in the woods, and its aftermath, helps Otter with a major life decision. He's a high school senior, hanging out with Darby – the local alpha male – and Darby's girlfriend Amber. Their public displays of affection irritate Otter. One afternoon, Darby gives Otter a ride, and while taking a short cut on a country road through the woods, Darby's car breaks down. They spend the night there. They swim in a stream and sleep side by side. Something happens between them. Will it change anything in Otter's life?
User review:
Otter, played by Bobby Steggert is a talented artist, having applied to go to an art college after high school. The college are willing to accept him and Otter should be thrilled, but he isn't. Why? Mainly because he'll get to spend less time with his friend Darcy, played by Damon Cardasis. When Darcy is trying to dunk Otter underwater, Otter thinks that's the only time Darby's going to go near him willingly. With Darcy's girlfriend Amber always in the shadows as permanent competition, Otter finally gets alone time with Darcy when they arrange to go to a concert featuring a band called the Lunachicks. One of their songs are played in the film, it fits the story. Darcy tries to take a short-cut, and they end up running out of gas in the woods.
Drinking and wondering around, they go back to the car when they hear a gunshot, only going back out later to swim in the dark. The conversation which happens after that changes their friendship. It leaves Otter with the only choice to make up his own mind and do what's best for him. Created by Daniel Falcone, this plot has been done a million times before, but the acting is good and Otter and Darcy's friendship is believable throughout it's ups and downs. I doubt viewers will be disappointed by this film.

The Sexual Liberation of Anna Lee 2014

The Sexual Liberation of Anna Lee 2014

Storyline:

Known for taking a very hands-on approach to treatment, the Variel House pushes patients to their sexual limits through a variety of exercises geared at helping them confront their fears. It is during these exercises that Anna Lee is paired up with Emmett, a patient battling his own demons, and the two forge an unlikely friendship. Together they share their most intimate secrets and hidden desires while navigating an intensely provocative road towards sexual freedom. But when their erotic journey proves too challenging for Emmett to handle, Anna is left wondering whether true liberation can only be found on one's own.
User review:
After watching dozens of Jacky St. James's OK incest-themed porn vignettes I was gratified to hit pay dirt with what must be her best film to date, THE SEXUAL LIBERATION OF ANNA LEE. It's one of the most impressive new XXX films I've seen in recent years.
Story reminded me a bit of a classic that's been largely forgotten, the great Anthony Spinelli's 1971 TOUCH ME, only Jacky's is better than this Golden Age forerunner. Spinelli dealt with a Sexual Encounter Group and featured minimal explicit sex, while the new film is set in an unconventional house for treatment of sexual dysfunction and (in keeping with the times) has a maximum amount of XXX action.

Storyline:
Witnessing an assassination, a boy claims the assassins are hunting him. With his older sister, the pair escape numerous attacks and are aided by their grandfather and a resourceful young bystander even under the spectre of martial law.
User review:
I suppose if you were 12 years old and lived in a lighthouse on a small island, you might be as naive as Mark Lester's character, "Ziggy," in this film. I suspect, though, that "not very smart" would need to be added, and I wonder if the correspondence to the comic strip character of the same name is more than coincidental. Everybody in this movie is a stereotype, but most irritating was Mark Lester himself who, after doing such a fine job in "Oliver!," here only gets to run around looking perpetually frightened out of his wits. I don't know for whom exactly this one was intended, but if you're not totally impressed by loud motorcycles with bad mufflers, I'd give it a miss.

Georges Bataille’s Story of the Eye 2003

Georges Bataille's Story of the Eye 2003
1h 21min | Drama , Adult | 12 December 2003 (USA)
Storyline:
The film takes place in a seemingly abandoned house where a group of people engage in wordless acts of passion. It covers a period from evening to morning, and the sexual couplings among the members of the house becomes increasingly harrowing as daylight arrives.
User review:
The problem with many of the reviews for this film on this site is they aren't approaching the film at its level. This is a very important thing to do. You don't go into an action film with melodrama expectations, for instance.
When you watch an experimental film, that was also presented as an art installation utilizing multiple screens (not all visible from one place) playing simultaneously with their sound audible everywhere, you don't go in expecting a traditional narrative with clear character psychology and an obvious point, like we are trained to read from traditional film. Likewise, we shouldn't be going in expecting it to be a direct adaptation of Bataille's novella. Again, an experimental adaptation is nothing like a traditional adaptation. This film adapts it in transgressive intent, some generalized thematic concerns, etc. etc.

Strapped 2010

Strapped 2010
1h 35min | Drama , Romance | 17 July 2010 (USA)
Storyline:
A routine trick at a man's apartment propels a cynical hustler into a series of strange and life-changing encounters in this stunningly photographed drama from San Francisco-based Joseph Graham. Tall and lanky with a mop of unruly dark hair, the young man makes for an attractive prostitute – handsome in body, amiable in personality and efficient in sex. He's just out to make a buck, one guy at a time. But this coldly efficient rent boy begins to look at himself in a different way one stormy night when he finds himself lost in a maze-like apartment building. The evening begins with a tryst with a beefy but timid man unused to gay sex. Their "session" becomes surprisingly tender for both. But time is money, and he's off – that is, he'd be off if he could find the exit. His unexpected odyssey leads him to a series of encounters: there is one with a "straight" guy with issues; a cocaine-fueled queen who thinks he knows him; an older man, hidden away in a leaky attic apartment who assists him on his journey; and a lonely young man who thinks he's finally found a connection with someone. Sex is the commonality, but out of that commodity comes raw, unguarded emotions for all, even for the hustler. Sad, funny, sexy and touching, Strapped is an unforgettable look into one young man's moving journey to understanding
User review:
We sometimes feel like we are lost, alone, and confused. Why not? Life is a labyrinth of trials, much like the building that the protagonist gets lost (literally and figuratively) in. Mistaking one path for another is easy, terrifying, and painful. Each path has friends and enemies, angels and demons. But if we're lucky enough, brave enough, we just might let someone in. Getting lost finding the way seems less scary.
Strapped is one of the most excellent films I have watched in quite a while. The writing is excellent, the direction is excellent, the acting is excellent. I have so much more to say about the intelligence, the symbolism, the honesty, the multi-layered profundity, the heart, and the life-affirming testament that is this film; however, why spoil all the fun for you?

I grew up listening to this music, but the original so-called movie that was a play was a huge disappointment. I was very excited when I heard they were remaking Saturday's Warrior. And the producers, director, and actors did a great job with this one.

User review:
To start with, I completely disagree with a previous 2/10 review.
"Center of my world" / "Die Mitte der Welt" was and is one of my most beloved novels I first read end of the 90ies shortly before it has been released. It's a wonderful book I always return to. I didn't know how it could be brought to screen – until now.

User review:
Yea yea, purposeless life, meaningless existence, emptiness engulfing him. Life for this guy – Gandu sucks real bad. But the movie does not need to suffer from emptiness also. period.
The movie has a weird sorta nihilism all the way. A movie like Salo by Pasolini with probably the same intentions as Q's Gandu turned out so much better than this.

Shadows of Our Forgotten Ancestors 1965

To recapture his attention, Palagna tries sorcery, and in the process comes under the spell of the sorcerer, publicly humiliating Ivan, who then fights the sorcerer. The lively rhythms of village life, the work and the holidays, the pageant and revelry of weddings and funerals, the change of seasons, and nature's beauty give proportion to Ivan's tragedy.
User review:
Ingmar Bergman once claimed that the childhood gift of a film projector inspired him to make movies. The feeling of magic in creating images in light upon the wall never left him; perhaps it revealed to him the perfect medium for living out dreams.
Watching "Shadows of Our Forgotten Ancestors" is like that moment of discovery: it makes us feel the same joy some have felt in discovering Bresson or Godard, the joy of finding out what film can do. It is understanding the director's joy in putting pictures together to tell a story (like a painter finding just the right colors to paint a myth). The movie, a sort of folk- Ukrainian "Romeo and Juliet," bursts with passion and physicality, chasing its protagonists through some of the most wild and beautiful landscapes ever caught on film. Yet the real romance here is between director Parajanov and the camera, which swoons and runs and bounds as ardently as any young lover, whether falling like a tree to the ground or spinning through a field or moping grief-stricken in a corner. Parajanov, like a honeymooning bridegroom, tries everything; he veers from silent-film subtitles to new-wave editing gimmicks to Russian iconography within seconds, and yet the tricks never feel anachronistic. From a torchlit search along a river to witchcraft in a lightning storm to the simple, painful clarity of the hero's eyes, the movie exudes a pagan wildness. (How he smuggled it past Soviet aesthetics is anybody's guess.)

Walkabout 1971

Walkabout 1971
1h 40min | Adventure , Drama | October 1971 (Australia)
Storyline:
A privileged British family consisting of a mother, a geologist father and an adolescent daughter and son, live in Sydney, Australia. Out of circumstance, the siblings, not knowing exactly where they are, get stranded in the Outback by themselves while on a picnic. They only have with them the clothes on their backs – their school uniforms – some meagre rations of nonperishable food, a battery-powered transistor radio, the son's satchel primarily containing his toys, and a small piece of cloth they used as their picnic drop-cloth. While they walk through the Outback, sometimes looking as though near death, they come across an Australian boy who is on his walkabout, a rite of passage into manhood where he spends months on end on his own living off the land. Their largest problem is not being able to verbally communicate. The boy does help them to survive, but doesn't understand their need to return to civilization, which may or may not happen based on what the Australian boy ends up doing.
User review:
A sometimes puzzling, sometimes enigmatic, but always interesting movie, although it is a bit easier to understand if you've read the novel on which it's based. Jenny Agutter is particularly good as the English girl who suddenly finds herself stranded in the desert with her younger brother, and was at just the right age–about 16–to play the part. David Gulpilil as the aborigine youth "gone walkabout" who rescues them is also excellent. The uncomfortable contrasts between European and aboriginal cultures are undeniably accurate, and the use of A. E. Housman's poem, "Into my heart an air that kills" adds additional poignancy to the already bittersweet ending.
Director: Nicolas Roeg
Writers: Edward Bond (screenplay), James Vance Marshall (novel)
S tars: Jenny Agutter, David Gulpilil, Luc Roeg

Brazilian men care about their physique and they freely allow admiration of their sculpted bodies. The sensuality of those men creates blurry sexual identities. An outdoors gym in the Arpoador area unveiled to me the vibrancy of the country and the diversity of men. Just behind the gym there is a gay cruising park. The gym crowd training during the day is very different from the one training at night. The film is a portrait of this shift while adding more Brazilian testosterone to this Summer's football excitement in the country!
