The Temptation of Eve 2013
1h 52min | Adult , Drama , Romance | Video 19 August 2013
User review:
"The Temptation of Eve", misleadingly titled is one of filmmaker Jacky St. James' promising early efforts in a career that for me at least has fizzled out rather quickly. She made a big splash three years ago, but has settled into the crank 'em out XXX rut (think of Fred Lincoln or Carter Stevens back in the day) lately.
She wisely cast Remy LaCroix in the lead -she who would become perhaps the most celebrated actress of her generation. There's some good individual scenes in the writing of the contrived script, but it doesn't hold together. Chief story gimmick is that Remy and her struggling young beau Tommy Pistol are living at the mansion of her former boyfriend Snidely Whiplash, oops! – I mean Xander Corvus, fitting the role of a heavy oh so easily.
Taking place during the recent steep recession, Jacky makes good thematic use of the problems besetting folks out of work, and the very best scene in Act IV has an interesting variation on the Biblical myth of Lot's Wife. But most of the dramaturgy is artificial and just interesting enough to set up the requisite lengthy XXX scenes. For variation, Bailey Blue is impressive as a sexy bimbo, and always reliable India Summer graces the proceedings in a forgettable role.
But Xander the manipulator is a paper-thin characterization, perhaps passing muster in the inevitable pay-cable late-night soft-core edition of the movie, but still a drag overall. Pistol has yet to impress me, leaving Remy to salvage the movie with her always sympathetic yet often depressed character, better seen in Nica Noelle's "Nobody's Daughter", made the same year as "Eve".

U ser review:
This is a wonderful family film. Here's a tip for Hollywood. My friend and I go to a matinée pretty much every week. There are sometimes, at most, a dozen, sometimes a half dozen, people in the theater. For this one? The room was a good half full. Now tell me why Hollywood insists on producing nasty, foul, poorly-written and acted pieces of trash all the time? Really. Anyway, this one gives you so much to think about. There are several instances of symbolism in this picture that took my breath away, that brought me to tears. Well written, well-acted, this one is so worth seeing. I am anxious to see it again and trust me, that isn't often the case. I took away from that theater a new feeling and I've thought about several of the lines of dialogue many times since. The truth and the trust of this picture will stay with you. I know it did me. I am always surprised by Tim McGraw. The man can surely sing, but he can also act. He's a natural. Octavia Spencer seems to be in about every movie there is lately – well, not quite but still – however, there is a reason. She is wonderful. She brings her role to life every time. And she most certainly did in this one. Trust me, this is one you want to see. Take your family. Take your friends. Or go alone. Doesn't matter. Just see it.

Dance and prostitution play the same role for Jonathan's body; virtuosity, desire, technique, and sex intertwine, granting coherence to a way of life that offers many answers to few questions; a leitmotiv that reconciles opposites and contradictions; answers that are sometimes painful, like all truths.
User review:
Fans of the mind and certainly the body of dancer / escort Cristhian Rodríguez of the explicit short Bramadero fame, will no doubt delight in this telling biopic of the man himself. Intercut with direct-to-camera interviews, together with dramatized sequences of his sexual encounters in the night, this is in effect an insightful documentary on the hopes and ambitions of a young man who funds his dance training by way of sex; either as a stripper or as a rent boy. That he's more than happy to do so gives way to the title, as Rodríguez takes to the go-go stage, dancing on top of a bar, even if the masturbation in question is implied; rather than seen.
Still there's no denying that Rodríguez is a fascinating subject, happy to talk in detail about his love of dance and the dance troupes that have fine-tuned the natural talent, he clearly has. Yet what I found most poignant were his recollections of growing up in a homophobic environment in which he did not realize that men could be affectionate with each other; namely that a loving relationship is possible between two men.

Storyline:
A night in the woods, and its aftermath, helps Otter with a major life decision. He's a high school senior, hanging out with Darby – the local alpha male – and Darby's girlfriend Amber. Their public displays of affection irritate Otter. One afternoon, Darby gives Otter a ride, and while taking a short cut on a country road through the woods, Darby's car breaks down. They spend the night there. They swim in a stream and sleep side by side. Something happens between them. Will it change anything in Otter's life?
User review:
Otter, played by Bobby Steggert is a talented artist, having applied to go to an art college after high school. The college are willing to accept him and Otter should be thrilled, but he isn't. Why? Mainly because he'll get to spend less time with his friend Darcy, played by Damon Cardasis. When Darcy is trying to dunk Otter underwater, Otter thinks that's the only time Darby's going to go near him willingly. With Darcy's girlfriend Amber always in the shadows as permanent competition, Otter finally gets alone time with Darcy when they arrange to go to a concert featuring a band called the Lunachicks. One of their songs are played in the film, it fits the story. Darcy tries to take a short-cut, and they end up running out of gas in the woods.
Drinking and wondering around, they go back to the car when they hear a gunshot, only going back out later to swim in the dark. The conversation which happens after that changes their friendship. It leaves Otter with the only choice to make up his own mind and do what's best for him. Created by Daniel Falcone, this plot has been done a million times before, but the acting is good and Otter and Darcy's friendship is believable throughout it's ups and downs. I doubt viewers will be disappointed by this film.
The Sexual Liberation of Anna Lee 2014
The Sexual Liberation of Anna Lee 2014
2h 7min | Adult , Drama , Romance | Video 10 March 2014
Storyline:
After growing up in a conservative home, a sexually repressed, Anna Lee seeks help in the most unlikely of places – an unconventional therapy practice called the Variel House. Known for taking a very hands-on approach to treatment, the Variel House pushes patients to their sexual limits through a variety of exercises geared at helping them confront their fears. It is during these exercises that Anna Lee is paired up with Emmett, a patient battling his own demons, and the two forge an unlikely friendship. Together they share their most intimate secrets and hidden desires while navigating an intensely provocative road towards sexual freedom. But when their erotic journey proves too challenging for Emmett to handle, Anna is left wondering whether true liberation can only be found on one's own.
User review:
After watching dozens of Jacky St. James's OK incest-themed porn vignettes I was gratified to hit pay dirt with what must be her best film to date, THE SEXUAL LIBERATION OF ANNA LEE. It's one of the most impressive new XXX films I've seen in recent years.
Story reminded me a bit of a classic that's been largely forgotten, the great Anthony Spinelli's 1971 TOUCH ME, only Jacky's is better than this Golden Age forerunner. Spinelli dealt with a Sexual Encounter Group and featured minimal explicit sex, while the new film is set in an unconventional house for treatment of sexual dysfunction and (in keeping with the times) has a maximum amount of XXX action.

User review:
I suppose if you were 12 years old and lived in a lighthouse on a small island, you might be as naive as Mark Lester's character, "Ziggy," in this film. I suspect, though, that "not very smart" would need to be added, and I wonder if the correspondence to the comic strip character of the same name is more than coincidental. Everybody in this movie is a stereotype, but most irritating was Mark Lester himself who, after doing such a fine job in "Oliver!," here only gets to run around looking perpetually frightened out of his wits. I don't know for whom exactly this one was intended, but if you're not totally impressed by loud motorcycles with bad mufflers, I'd give it a miss.

Georges Bataille's Story of the Eye 2003
1h 21min | Drama , Adult | 12 December 2003 (USA)
Storyline:
The film takes place in a seemingly abandoned house where a group of people engage in wordless acts of passion. It covers a period from evening to morning, and the sexual couplings among the members of the house becomes increasingly harrowing as daylight arrives.
User review:
The problem with many of the reviews for this film on this site is they aren't approaching the film at its level. This is a very important thing to do. You don't go into an action film with melodrama expectations, for instance.
When you watch an experimental film, that was also presented as an art installation utilizing multiple screens (not all visible from one place) playing simultaneously with their sound audible everywhere, you don't go in expecting a traditional narrative with clear character psychology and an obvious point, like we are trained to read from traditional film. Likewise, we shouldn't be going in expecting it to be a direct adaptation of Bataille's novella. Again, an experimental adaptation is nothing like a traditional adaptation. This film adapts it in transgressive intent, some generalized thematic concerns, etc. etc.

Strapped 2010
1h 35min | Drama , Romance | 17 July 2010 (USA)
Storyline:
A routine trick at a man's apartment propels a cynical hustler into a series of strange and life-changing encounters in this stunningly photographed drama from San Francisco-based Joseph Graham. Tall and lanky with a mop of unruly dark hair, the young man makes for an attractive prostitute – handsome in body, amiable in personality and efficient in sex. He's just out to make a buck, one guy at a time. But this coldly efficient rent boy begins to look at himself in a different way one stormy night when he finds himself lost in a maze-like apartment building. The evening begins with a tryst with a beefy but timid man unused to gay sex. Their "session" becomes surprisingly tender for both. But time is money, and he's off – that is, he'd be off if he could find the exit. His unexpected odyssey leads him to a series of encounters: there is one with a "straight" guy with issues; a cocaine-fueled queen who thinks he knows him; an older man, hidden away in a leaky attic apartment who assists him on his journey; and a lonely young man who thinks he's finally found a connection with someone. Sex is the commonality, but out of that commodity comes raw, unguarded emotions for all, even for the hustler. Sad, funny, sexy and touching, Strapped is an unforgettable look into one young man's moving journey to understanding
User review:
We sometimes feel like we are lost, alone, and confused. Why not? Life is a labyrinth of trials, much like the building that the protagonist gets lost (literally and figuratively) in. Mistaking one path for another is easy, terrifying, and painful. Each path has friends and enemies, angels and demons. But if we're lucky enough, brave enough, we just might let someone in. Getting lost finding the way seems less scary.
Strapped is one of the most excellent films I have watched in quite a while. The writing is excellent, the direction is excellent, the acting is excellent. I have so much more to say about the intelligence, the symbolism, the honesty, the multi-layered profundity, the heart, and the life-affirming testament that is this film; however, why spoil all the fun for you?

"Center of my world" / "Die Mitte der Welt" was and is one of my most beloved novels I first read end of the 90ies shortly before it has been released. It's a wonderful book I always return to. I didn't know how it could be brought to screen – until now.

User review:
Yea yea, purposeless life, meaningless existence, emptiness engulfing him. Life for this guy – Gandu sucks real bad. But the movie does not need to suffer from emptiness also. period.
The movie has a weird sorta nihilism all the way. A movie like Salo by Pasolini with probably the same intentions as Q's Gandu turned out so much better than this.

User review:
Ingmar Bergman once claimed that the childhood gift of a film projector inspired him to make movies. The feeling of magic in creating images in light upon the wall never left him; perhaps it revealed to him the perfect medium for living out dreams.
Watching "Shadows of Our Forgotten Ancestors" is like that moment of discovery: it makes us feel the same joy some have felt in discovering Bresson or Godard, the joy of finding out what film can do. It is understanding the director's joy in putting pictures together to tell a story (like a painter finding just the right colors to paint a myth). The movie, a sort of folk- Ukrainian "Romeo and Juliet," bursts with passion and physicality, chasing its protagonists through some of the most wild and beautiful landscapes ever caught on film. Yet the real romance here is between director Parajanov and the camera, which swoons and runs and bounds as ardently as any young lover, whether falling like a tree to the ground or spinning through a field or moping grief-stricken in a corner. Parajanov, like a honeymooning bridegroom, tries everything; he veers from silent-film subtitles to new-wave editing gimmicks to Russian iconography within seconds, and yet the tricks never feel anachronistic. From a torchlit search along a river to witchcraft in a lightning storm to the simple, painful clarity of the hero's eyes, the movie exudes a pagan wildness. (How he smuggled it past Soviet aesthetics is anybody's guess.)

Storyline:
A privileged British family consisting of a mother, a geologist father and an adolescent daughter and son, live in Sydney, Australia. Out of circumstance, the siblings, not knowing exactly where they are, get stranded in the Outback by themselves while on a picnic. They only have with them the clothes on their backs – their school uniforms – some meagre rations of nonperishable food, a battery-powered transistor radio, the son's satchel primarily containing his toys, and a small piece of cloth they used as their picnic drop-cloth. While they walk through the Outback, sometimes looking as though near death, they come across an Australian boy who is on his walkabout, a rite of passage into manhood where he spends months on end on his own living off the land. Their largest problem is not being able to verbally communicate. The boy does help them to survive, but doesn't understand their need to return to civilization, which may or may not happen based on what the Australian boy ends up doing.
User review:
A sometimes puzzling, sometimes enigmatic, but always interesting movie, although it is a bit easier to understand if you've read the novel on which it's based. Jenny Agutter is particularly good as the English girl who suddenly finds herself stranded in the desert with her younger brother, and was at just the right age–about 16–to play the part. David Gulpilil as the aborigine youth "gone walkabout" who rescues them is also excellent. The uncomfortable contrasts between European and aboriginal cultures are undeniably accurate, and the use of A. E. Housman's poem, "Into my heart an air that kills" adds additional poignancy to the already bittersweet ending.

Even seasoned reviewers will tell you, in confidence, that there are some films which should not be reviewed by conventional means. This is one of them.
I am guessing I have seen several dozen films that try in their own fashion to capture the essence, the nub, of what it is like to be a child in a world of adults.

Very much an experimental film this is a voice-over loosely linked with the "found" images that it accompanies.
I had this on my list of films to see for a long time before realizing that it was one of the unimpressive shorts on the same tape as Black Sheep Boy and that I'd already seen it. For me, this was another of those films where the description of the film was more interesting than the film itself.

User review:
This title recounts a twelve step style sexual dysfunction group where each attendee assumes an alias based on what they believe their sexual dysfunction is. The acting is one step up from porn and bears a strong resemblance to that media.
One of the attendees is a guy who goes by the name of exhibitionist. He's got a nice body and his voice over scene involves him stripping for an art class and then fondling himself. What's strange is that while he remains limp throughout, he talks about getting an erection. Then while its clear that he's shaved down below he talks about showing his pubes.

Adventures Of Tracy Dick 1985
1h 21min | Adult , Comedy | Video
User review:
Stacey Donovan in interviews claimed she never liked performing in porn, only kept going to make lots of money, and that she was a virgin before her first film. The third part of this statement is often used by models to keep their porn career a secret from boyfriends and relatives. Watching one of her films made me doubt that part 3 was true. Stacey has the best scene in the movie with Traci Lords {Tracey Dick) and Tom Byron where the two detectives coach her on ways to cure her husband, Hannibal, from impotency. The second best is between Peter North and Traci, stretched out too long with a strange hiccuping noise she made. She grew so excited I was afraid she might hurt herself. This picture is kind of like a home video of a swinger's party with movie star guests, thinly plotted around a way to cure Hannibal long enough to read his will which might be written on his male organ.

Mr. Hobbs wanted the vacation to be a romantic getaway for two, but Peggy insisted that it be a family vacation to a central California beach-side house, given to them for the month by friends. The vacation included all their offspring, and their offspring's respective families where applicable. Hobbs hated the idea as he felt he didn't know his offspring – and their spouses even less – and that they, in turn, no longer needed him. They include: daughter Susan Carver, who, with her husband, Stan Carver, have a permissive parenting style as per the latest child psychology books; daughter Janie Grant, whose husband, college professor, Byron Grant, has an academic view of everything in life; fourteen year old daughter, Katey Hobbs, who is self conscious around boys if only because of her new braces, that self consciousness which boys see as standoffishness; and preteen son Danny Hobbs, whose sole focus in life is watching television. The house ended up being a rat trap which exasperated their cook Brenda the most. But beyond that issue, Mr. Hobbs ended up learning the true nature of his relationship to his offspring and to Peggy. In the process, he had to endure the extended visit by an odd couple named the Turners, and learned that some problems can be solved purely by yelling "hey Joe" into an unknown group of boys.
User review:
Mr. Hobbs Takes A Vacation is delightful from beginning to end. It's a vacation none of us would mind taking. Mr. and Mrs. Hobbs are somewhat "with it" parents, with a child in each generation, young and old, each with their own problems. They grow up so quickly. Mrs. Hobbs uses the excuse of a summer vacation, in a shack of a shore house, to bring them all closer together before their individual roads (which they are already traveling) lead them further away from "home".
The rental home is a shambles and the "family" doesn't cooperate with "the plan". Leave it to the "deadpan" Stewart, problem solver and loving dad, to close the gap with each child (and their own broods), and re-unite them all back into one big, happy family.

"Zamri, umri, vokresni!" is not, at first sight, a positive movie. And, as it develops, the tone gets darker. Vitali Kanevsky, the director, makes a very good use of black-and-white film. The lives of Galia and Valerka get increasingly unbearable. They make it bearable, however, by making easy bantering between them about which one's tea is better as they sell them to the people. Little things like that. In all the misery that he lives in, Valerka's main goal is still to catch a robber who stole his skates. They have not lost their childhood, not yet. Not until the end. It is interesting to note that "Zamri, umri, vokresni!" is also the name of a children's game in Russia. It means, literally, "Freeze, Die, Rise!"

I just watched this movie last night, and I can see this movie as being one you either really like, or you really hate. I personally found it very interesting, especially in the portrayal of suburbia being "perfect," but when you look closer everyone has just as many flaws as any other person. The performances are solid as well as the soundtrack, but sometimes the movie moves a little slow, but then again what movie doesn't? If you are not tired of the typical teen angst movie, then I suggest this movie. Although some people gave this a very bad review, I suggest you to just keep an open mind while watching it, you probably won't be disappointed. There are only a few flaws throughout the movie, and also it exaggerates parents not paying attention to their kids very much and has a few unbelievable moments, but some of it is just because of the satire. I really liked this movie and I hope you do too!

Over the course of two years, while living with the hospital staff, Maurice and eight other young boarders unforgettably experience friendship, solidarity and extraordinary courage. These are the children of luck.

July 1942. A boy is taken to the hospital of Garches for a broken leg, Maurice Gutman, 12, narrowly avoids the roundup that will take his family. At the hospital, Dr. Daviel diagnosed him with tuberculosis and imposed a long treatment. What if it was only a ruse to prevent Mauritius from being deported? Maurice and eight other young boarders will live with the hospital staff an unforgettable experience of friendship, solidarity and extraordinary courage. These are the children of luck and their story is true.
In the streets of this Paris in the colors of summer 42, some kids play this game called bones. A fight broke out and one of them tore off the yellow star of his partner. Attempted to escape, one boy pushes the other who stumbled and made a hovering flight on the stairs. Result: a broken leg! This yellow star must have reserved a fatal fate for him. His lucky star will decide otherwise because, thanks to an incredible combination of circumstances, he will avoid deportation. Maurice Grosman, whose life almost stopped at an early age, is now 86 years old.
Lately it has been a bunch of true stories that is coming out but this one I decided to see what it was about and I was a bit surprise to have a good time while watching it.The subject is difficult and sad ,and the narrative is enveloped in warmth and even humor, never sinks in sadness. To overcome both medical and racial obstacles, these children show a vitality that forces admiration and illuminates the film from beginning to end. If all these young actors shine by the authenticity of their interpretation Maurice (Matteo Perez) shine here and even steal the show. It is through Mr Clément (François Patissier), that the kids has an education his character is somewhat like Charlie Chaplin. The doctor tries to find more medicine while the kids are fed up eating the same thing everyday. You'll see what they get through in order to survive. A dramatic comedy that is actually fun to watch despite that it is taking place during the second world war.

User review:
If Walt Disney, Todd Solondz, and David Lynch were to collaborate on a film, it might resemble Kuba Czekaj's Baby Bump, a gruesome coming-of-age story that is never afraid to test the limits of cinema. Completely disregarded traditional filmmaking rules, the film finds its deranged cast interacting with its sarcastic quasi-narrator for a unique result.
It takes around ten minutes for Baby Bump to venture into immensely inappropriate territory, as a pre-teen girl offers to show a boy her "tits" in exchange for some marshmallows. The film only gets weirder and wilder from there, with Mickey House (Kacper Olszewski) trying and failing to grow up without horribly embarrassing himself. There isn't much of a narrative. Instead, Baby Bump is comprised of a collection of somewhat intertwining scenes dealing with adolescence, body image, sexual identity, and mental health.

User review:
Sometime it happens that opposites happen when watching a movie. To take the whole cake the movie was based on a usual happening i.e. robbery and movie restoration. This is an old topic and cannot be mingled with a movie that can only be described a mediocre. This movie surprises from the start reason being its plot unfolding and sitting inside the action. Good movie to watch, to start with, but as the latter parts unfolds and climax is near, the film becomes a laughing stock, as you can even before the end a clear prediction can be made what is going to happen. The climax just flushes the movie. It made me laugh when the villain gets dead with a mode of death that really makes the movie understandable. The male teenager plays its part very nicely, but towards the end it seems that Jason is in the making, and this film may well be a breeding ground for or retrospectively a Friday thirteen younger years movie. Overall nice experience and some nice and laughable scenes.

User review:
I watched the movie with no much expectation! It turned out to be one of my favorite movies. There are only four characters in the movie ! All of them did their part really well, Especially Paulo. The ending was very beautifully directed i had tears in my eyes ! This movie explains how complicated love is. Even though you want someone, it is not easy to be with him. As the other reviewer said, the story is not at all similar to "Weekend". Only Similarity is, the main characters meeting in a bar for the first time! other than that i cannot see any similarity in the story. Beyond the walls is much complicated love story.

UNDER THE BED is nothing more than an unwelcome attempt to update that classic child-in-danger horror sub-genre of the 1980s. User review:
If I had to evaluate the overall movie, there are two reasons to watch or not to watch it. Why to watch and who is a potential spectator? A good reason to watch is the plot itself. The director had a superb idea: he decided to show not just a pure sex movie, but to put it in a certain frame. The movie consists of five or six stories, and each of them is based on some ancient Russian fairy tale (or at least the roles are taken from some fairy tale). That makes the beginning of each story really interesting and funny. So, a person has a motivation to watch the movie if he or she wants to have fun, just like watching any other comedy. Now, let's think about the negative sides of the movie. And there are lots of them. First of all, probably, a person who is going to watch a movie that is intended for adult spectators, is willing to see erotics, passion, porno, and all the other things that makes him mentally involved and sexually arouse. However, in "The Sex in the Russian Way", when the funny introduction is over and the intimate part takes place, only pure porno is left. No erotic, no passion. Only action. As for me, I can equally watch how animals mate and how actors in this movie make sex:) To sum up, 5/10 (5 points for a good plot)

User review:
Something of an obvious precursor to the subsequent masterpiece In the Mood for Love (2000); Happy Together (1997) is a tragic love story by way of recollection. If you're at all familiar with the work of director Wong Kar-Wai – from his breakthrough film Days of Being Wild (1991), to his more recent masterwork, the unsung 2046 (2004) – then you'll be accustomed to his personal approach to cinema; from that continually drifting sense of quiet melancholy and disconnected ennui – all captured by a roving camera that conspires to alienate characters from one another by intrusive shot composition and naturalist production design – and a beguiling approach to the concept of time continually abstracted in order to create drama from moments of fond reminisce. Once again, the feeling expressed in Happy Together is that of loneliness and despair, as characters drift spectre-like through desolate cities attempting to cling to moments and memories as if gasping for their final breath; and all the while distorted by a frequently hypnotic approach to music, structure, pace and cinematography.
If the film lacks the sophistication of the aforementioned In the Mood for Love, it is only because the process of refinement has replaced the edginess and earthiness of this film, with a studied, technical grandeur and ornate beauty that is really quite transcendent. Nonetheless, the style and tone of Happy Together fits the mood of the film perfectly; capturing the feckless uncertainly of the character's lives – both together and apart – and concurrently suggesting the idea of memory and repetition that plays an important role in the way the narrative ultimately plays out. The first viewing might very well be confusing, with scenes occurring that seem to simultaneously represent both the past and the present, and with information presented in a series of incredibly quick cuts, disconnected voice-over and a continually jarring cross-cutting back and forth between lurid colour and an oddly tinted monochrome, which seems to work on an emotional level, as opposed to any kind of narrative convention.

As Georgios Vizneyos, one of Greece's greatest authors, degenerates in an Athens mental asylum, the tale of another story-teller, his grandfather, begins to emerge through his mad ramblings. This lavish film recreates (through his own words) the writer's childhood life, rich with fantasy and legend. Apprenticed to a tailor, young Georgios' mind is filled with his grandfather fairy tales. He ponders the hill from which one can climb into the sky and waits each day for the chance to bring clothes to the princess and win her heart through song. But, just as reality begins to germinate doubt in his mind, Georgios is called home to his ailing grandfather, who will reveal one final, true story that may prove to be the most fantastic of all.
User review:
Illustration of the eponymous work of Georgios Vizyinos (1884), Lakis Papastathis uses the first person of narration and makes it an "autobiography", which is chronicled during the last years of the life of the prose writer, being hospitalized in Dromokaitia. The fictional representation of the era and the speech, the preservation of the katharon and the moral integrity are routed directly into the psyche of the viewer, drifting to the magic of Wyzyn's writing. The selection of the little girl Fragiskis Moustakis in the boyish role is considered ideal, since she is called to interpret the "grandfather" who has tresses growing up like a girl, but also to serve the beauty of the young Vizian, where the fairytale defines her as unique. However, the short duration of the film betrays the whole thing and leaves insanely the best of our intentions, which did not prevent it from sweeping the state awards. (google translated)

User review:
Well, maybe it isn't that bad. Some moments are touching, others genuinely harrowing. And Jeff Bridges always comes up with something surprising. But, "true story" though it may be, "White Squall" is overwhelmed by its obvious schematic and Ridley Scott's signature gloss. Each young crewmember has a stamped-on singular defect, Scott Wolf's tomcruisy precociousness is particularly grating, and for all the magnificent ocean scenery and blather about boys being forged into men, we're shown precious little of the day-to-day grunt/teamwork that's at the core of the whole business. Add to this the greatest assemblage of immaculate white t-shirts and bronzed, hairless torsos since Abercrombie met Fitch, and a potentially gritty, moving story lies trapped in amber.

In 53 scenes in chronological order we follow the brothers through their journey of childhood, adolescence and struggle for identity.
User review:
Or rather two childhoods. Because we get to know the twins Gustav and Oskar from the fact that they are only nine years to the rounding of the teens, a couple of plants that actually remind me of my own.
Because when we were little, me and my three brothers, we also grew up in the countryside. We had hens and other animals, played in the woods and fought hard together to counter the sadness and frustration of environmental exclusion. And just like Gustav and Oskar, we never really found our places in society when urban environments and everything that it implies were introduced, parenting and societal hand-in-hand with deviant interests, including the testing of drugs and role-playing. But just as for Gustav and Oskar, we were embraced by the adult and went on, it's something I suppose these two boys did – because nothing else is mentioned.

Saw this movie at TIFF and after watching the trailer was thinking I was going to enjoy this movie. Those expectations now are so very low, this movie is amazing. It speaks on many different levels of being a teenager, dealing with death, loneliness, and how awkward it can be trying to fit in. I haven't seen a move like this in a very long time and was very refreshing. The highlight of the film for me at least from a acting stand point is Ezra Miller really funny, but very heartfelt at the same time. Don't get me wrong the whole case is amazing (Emma Watson was perfect for this after HP) but Ezra really stands out. Stephen Chbosky really cared about this book, and it really shows in this film. Him Directing and writing his own book was a amazing idea.
