The misfit in high school is a tried and true indie genre (were ANY indie filmmakers well-adjusted jocks in high school?). So one approaches yet another example of the breed with some weariness, expecting certain marks to be hit, especially when the protagonist is, as here, hugely overweight. And indeed he is unpopular with his phys ed teacher and gets more than one comment about his breasts. But all manner of subtle variations make this one unique from the start, starting with his mixed relationship with his uncle (a surprisingly touching turn by "The Office"'s Creed Bratton), whose condition – Alzheimer's? – makes him sometimes the one needing care, but whose age and fundamental compassion also make him the caretaker (in the never explained absence of Terri's parents). Perhaps because of this ambivalent situation, Terri has a strong sense of self which takes him from the start out of victim territory, prompting him, for instance, to defiantly wear pajamas to school. His relationship with John C. Reilly's assistant principal character is similarly ambivalent, since as a mentor the latter is both empowering and disappointing. The two other students who become his friends are similarly displaced yet defiant and the film is rich in both vulnerability and self-assertion. The quiet intrigues of the film are not the stuff of stirring plot, but do show Terri and his friends in their own messy, determined way becoming themselves in a way that is, almost unobtrusively, optimistic and uplifting.

Gloriously gay from its sensual start, this emotional rollercoaster ride of a film, as based on the stage play Internet Baby by Julia Britton and adapted for the screen by noted Melbourne playwright and actor Angus Brown, is but a tour de force from leads Graeme Squires and Nicholas Gunn; faces that will be familiar to fans of global Aussie soaps Home and Away and Neighbours. Yet what the pair get up to here is certainly past the watershed, having thrown themselves with wild gay abandon into their roles, letting their mouths pay tender lip-service, that is when not getting down to some seriously naked man-sex that is sure to become a topic of conversation.
Yet at the core of this film is the issue of child adoption, a situation that no doubt many gay couples will find themselves in, yearning to adopt a child, yet faced with the reality that at the period in which the film is set (early 2000's) and even to this day in certain Australian States, male same-sex couples have virtually no opportunities to become legally recognized parents and adopt a child. It's a situation that finds Steve and Alex enlist the services of Nerine; a newly pregnant loose cannon of a girl who has no desire to raise a child, being all too keen to take the money and run. Only run she does not, returning later to remind the gay dads of the bitter home truth that they have no legal rights to adopt, or even rear – their son.

It's the 1980s. Brother and sister Christopher Jr. and Cathy Dollanganger, a surgeon and ballet teacher respectively, are the product of an incestuous but loving relationship between their married parents, who were half-uncle to niece. They managed to escape from their mother, born Corrine Foxworth, who once tried to kill them so that she could inherit her estranged father's vast estate. Corrine, who ultimately did inherit all the money, was eventually institutionalized following a mental breakdown. Cathy has two children, teenager Jory, whose biological father is now deceased ballet dancer Julian Marquet, and preteen Bart, whose biological father is now deceased Bart Winslow, Corrine's second husband. While Jory knows about Julian, Bart knows nothing about Bart Sr.; neither knows about Chris and Cathy's sibling relationship. Chris treats both boys as his own, and visa versa. These secrets abound in the Sheffield home, despite Chris having a policy of no secrets. Despite the possibility of being found out, Chris and Cathy decide to adopt an adolescent girl, Cindy, one of Cathy's ballet students whose mother has just died following an illness. The Sheffield house of cards could come tumbling down around them when, not by accident, Corrine, now out of the hospital and with her inherited wealth, moves in next door, she who wants to revive her relationship with the only family she has. She uses Bart as her pawn, he the insecure one in the family. But it's the actions of a bystander who wants to continue with the fire and brimstone beliefs of Corrine's now deceased mother, the religiously fanatical Olivia Foxworth, that may not only bring the house of cards down but kill many under its weight with Bart's help.

Oh, how I didn't miss this messed up family. Welcome, guys, to my review of the third (out of four) film in the Dollanganger saga. This time, Cathy and Chris are recast (again) and they have kids this time! Let's see if the film series has learned from it's mistakes of Petals on the Wind, or if it will go further down the rabbit hole. This is…
…If There Be Thorns. If There Be Thorns mainly follows the Dollanganger family several years after the end of Petals on the Wind, as their lives have finally fallen into a sense of normalcy. Things change quickly as a new woman moves in next door – and surprise, it's Corrine! Bart makes fast friends with her, and after the butler gives him his grandfather's journal, he starts making his way down a path that could lead to destruction.

As the years have wore on, Quadrophenia has broken free of tagged cult classic status to emerge as a bona fide candidate for best British youth movie ever. The iconography of its main protagonist has subsided to let the core sensibility of the movies theme shine thru, this is pure and simple a perfect depiction of fallen youth during a heady time, a tale of ones ideology crumbling so sadly over the course of one weekend.
The period is captured vividly by director Franc Roddam, the stark threat of violence mixed in with the best music the 60s had to offer, serves to let the viewer feel they were there at the time, and the result is a perfect period piece. The story follows Jimmy {a tremendous Phil Daniels} on a voyage of discovery that is funny at times, yet also very sadly tragic, and for anyone who was once a teenager searching for identity and purpose…….. then this film will have maximum resonance.

Christos Tsiolkas' 2006 novel "Dead Europe" was a chilling tale of a young Australian photographer bringing his father's ashes back to his native Greece, where he begins to have some otherworldly experiences. Being Jewish, gay, and of Greek descent, the Aussie author weaves his own sexual and spiritual beliefs into the character of Isaac to craft a thoroughly believable narrative that resonated with readers worldwide.
Turning this award-winning book into a movie involved a set of serendipitous circumstances, as director Tony Krawitz explained in the Q&A following the screening here in Toronto. He got a call from his producer Liz Watts, telling him about a book by an Australian author that would make a good motion picture. In fact, Krawitz had just read Tsiolkas' novel a month earlier but Watts had no idea. It was one of those rare moments that could only be labeled "fateful." Adapting the book for the screen was the next challenge. Louise Fox, a hugely successful writer of over 100 Australian television movies and series episodes, was called upon to craft the script. The resulting film is a triumphant followup to director Tony Krawitz's 2005 feature debut "Jewboy." The picture contains some of the same frightening thematical elements as in Stephen King's novella "Apt Pupil," which director Bryan Singer turned into a controversial feature film in 1998 with Ian McKellan and Brad Renfro. But in "Dead Europe" the atrocities of World War II, most notably involving the treatment of Jews and gays, combined with Eastern European traditions of curses and mysticism, produce a much more chilling narrative a la Hitchcock and Serling than the Singer work with its notorious but subtle homoerotic undertones. Krawitz takes the paranormal aspect a giant leap further, along with a more overtly sexual storyline, resulting in an unflinching, often painful examination of one man's sad descent into the present-day horrors still being visited upon Europeans today, ostensibly as a result of their (and/or their descendants') past actions.

"Pillowbook" maybe one of Peter Greenaway's most amazing films next to "The Cook, the Thief, his Wife and her Lover". If you want to see Ewan McGregor completely naked for extended periods of time, now's your chance. I'd probably walk around nude too, if I was as well endowed as him! The "Pillowbook" concerns the character Nagiko, played by the sexy Vivian Wu. (She made me say Woooh!) Growing up Nagiko has fond memories of her father who was an author. He would paint calligraphy on her face. She also enjoyed the pillow-book that her aunt had read to her with it's sensual stories. One memory that troubles her was her father being blackmailed for sexual favors by a gay publisher. He did this to get his stories published. All grown up Nagiko develops a fetish to be written on with ink. She goes through many men, but has no luck. She also has the desire to create her own pillow-book of lists and obsessions. Then she meets Jerome (Ewan Mcgregor) an English translator, it's a strange love at first sight. The only problem is that he has sloppy handwriting. So Jerome offer's himself to be written on like the pages of the book. Little does she know that Jerome is bisexual and having relations with the same publisher that had blackmailed her father growing up. When she realizes this she uses Jerome to seduce the publisher with his written body. She wants to get her book published. Nagiko narrates the film saying, "If I couldn't seduce the publisher, I could at least seduce the publisher's lover." Talk about twisted! As the film moves along it becomes more strange and surreal, with frame within frame of words and images. The screen breaks down into boxes and into lists at points. It's easy to get confused during your first viewing, like Greenaway's other films. "The Pillowbook" is not your typical erotic film, it's also a story of betrayal and vengeance. One things for sure, Vivian Wu and Ewan McGregor have such great sexual chemistry together. This creates a hypnotic and beautiful effect on the viewer.

For a class act like Michael Biehn… (The Terminator/Aliens) I was interested in this movie. Unfortunately, what let it down BIG time, was the intermittent music playing. There was no suspense building at all. Had the music been cut, it would have built a lot more suspense. The beginning intro music and end titles music was really way better.
Next,we have the dialogue and Script, which just seemed completely disjointed at best. I won't give any spoiler alerts, however there are scenes between the young boy and the girl, that just looked like they were plain awkward, and, don't make sense at all. You'll actually see – and hear – Michael Biehn go on about this during the end credits, where they supposedly put in the outtakes for good effect.

Greetings again from the darkness. A math professor and an art professor are apt to view the world discordantly, but it doesn't mean they aren't capable of a strong personal relationship together. After planting a morning kiss on the cheek of his wife, Paul sets off on a one-man survival hike through the hills and forest. When he doesn't return, the mystery begins. Only it's not really a mystery, and it's certainly not the thriller it seems to be disguised as. Rather, it's a character study of how a rational mind works to make sense of a world that can't always be explained logically.
Lisa Robinson and Annie J Howell have co-written and co-directed this story that gives Betsy Brandt a chance to really spread her dramatic acting wings after her time on "Breaking Bad". Here she plays Claire, a math professor, wife, and mother to Connor (Zev Haworth). Being of sound mind and structured thought, Claire immediately starts trying to find the logical reason for the disappearance of her husband. What she discovers is her husband often secretly veered from the structured life she so valued. This leads Claire to an awkward meeting with Allison (Anna Margaret Hollyman), one of his grad students. It turns out Allison and Paul had a pretty close connection over an upcoming art project.

I know that was a bit harsh,but I did really like this film.First,the good,the characters they are decently developed and acted.The effects and action are decent,and the set design is amazing.The writers did a good job on taking everything in the TV show and expanding it.The humor,some jokes are really clever,like the references to the show ad some word puns.The score is good,and so is the cinematography.Now,the bad,the acting at times is too over the top.I thought that the movie was too fast in the last 30 minutes,and the biggest flaw,too much exposition,almost everything in the movie is explained,like come on,I think the audience can understand the movie without explanations every 5 seconds.All in all,this is a really fun nostalgiac film with a few flaws.

Movie- It's about a girl named Emily who has a secret about her past. She doesn't tell anyone one about it. She then encourages the neighborhood kids to come to her with their secrets. (Calling herself the secret keeper). Emily's friends go off to camp, but she stays behind with her dream of becoming a violinist. The movie starts to get going when she gets two next door neighbors. She becomes friends with one of the neighbors, Philip. During the rest of the movie secrets are told and kept. But two secrets get out in the open. And Emily realizes Secrets are bad.

But what? And how is the mystery of Camp Green Lake connected to Stanley's family curse?

This is one of my favorite films of all time. I read the book and liked it, but this movie expands on everything the book made famous. The acting is fantastic, especially from Jon Voight, who plays Mr. Sir, a very evil character. This film has a certain way of storytelling that keeps you hooked throughout, until the end where everything is pulled together for a great ending. I also love the way this is directed, by flashing back and forth between the modern day and Stanley's ancestors' stories. The story was written by Louis Sachar, yes, but it seems that this story is made for film, and Andrew Davis does a great job directing it. I definitely recommend this to anyone who enjoys good movies.

A bisexual couple seduces another couple. That's about it, but the movie is still fascinating. It was made long before AIDS (and, ironically, one of the actors later died of the disease) so there are no boundaries on what the couples will do and there's no moralizing on what is right or wrong. That's the great thing about the movie-it doesn't judge. I saw this years ago at a film festival and was just astonished. It's hard to explain WHY I liked it but I did. It dealt with sex roles, male and female sexuality, bisexuality in an uninhibited and fun way.
As for the sex…there's not much. I saw an uncut version and, to be honest, there wasn't anything very explicit. The sequence between the women was tame and all the two men engaged in was oral. That's really about it. In fact when this came out in 1973 it was a bomb. It was X rated but it wasn't explicit enough for the porno crowd or intelligent enough for the "intellectual" audience. Now it's being realized for how good it is.

Just a few weeks into 2017, many people seem to be overwhelmingly concerned about the potential of societal collapse en route to the full-fledged apocalypse. While these beliefs often appear to have been formed under the influence of fear and emotional uneasiness, there's always the possibility that tomorrow could bring forth the end of the world as we know it. That potential has been around since the dawn of mankind, and it is precisely what makes stories of life in a post-apocalyptic world so intriguing to those of us that are living relatively comfortable lives. It feels so far away and so close at the same time.
Given the current political climate throughout the United States, there is sure to be a metric shitload of apocalyptic movies with sociopolitical themes on the horizon. Regardless of that inevitable influx, Matthew Ogens' Go North has the distinct honor of being the first post-apocalyptic thriller to be released on what may be the last year that cinema — and the world, for that matter — exists. Fittingly, it is a not-quite-thriller about the end of the world that is unlike any other movie about the end of days.
Set shortly after a catastrophic event wipes out a significant portion of the population, Go North finds a group of teenagers living inside of a fascistic community where religion is banned and nobody is allowed to return should they decide to walk beyond the gates of the makeshift society. Like Lord of the Flies meets The Breakfast Club, the film analyzes what happens when young people are forced to grow up quickly, under unusual circumstances.
Jacob Lofland (who you might remember for his superb performance in Mud) stars as Josh, an awkward but intuitive teenager whose obsession with the outside world grows stronger with each passing day. Jessie (Sophie Clark Kennedy) feels the same way, and fears that life inside of the community is getting more and more out of control. With tensions rising all around them, the two friends set out in hopes of discovering a better life.

After inheriting a family castle in Romania, a family discovers the dark secret behind the local legend of a vicious beast roaming the city as they race to stop a horde of vampires from taking control of the castle.
This here turned out to be quite an enjoyable and entertaining kiddie-centered horror-comedy. There's a lot of good in this about making an even mix between tween-inspired parts and more normal horror motifs, and there's plenty to both sides in here. The tween backbone here is all well-handled with the different attitudes toward the single father dating, the romance for once isn't obtrusive to the story in detriment for the actual horror, and the beginning where they explore the castle is just filled with some quality gags that really showcase the goofier humor present that really appeals to kids. From the gags trying to scare the sister to the constant sibling-like digs on each other and the side-splitting recurring gag with a character's name, there's some really funny stuff in here and it gets better once the transformation occurs. The antics that depict the transformation, from the heightened sense and reactions to the lessening of objection towards previously-objectionable attitudes and how their date goes which is constantly threatened by her burgeoning abilities for some nice laughs but knows to transition into horror territory nicely as once those abilities creep in, the explanation and back-story about the creature amongst the town's history is wonderfully handled. It makes for a pretty enjoyable time by creating a pretty strong connection through the twisted mythology with the action in the last half which is just non-stop brawling between the two werewolves and the vampire clan through the catacombs under the castle, through the cemetery and finally into the neighboring warehouse providing plenty of fun times as the fight progresses, and overall this is mixed quite nicely with the humorous aspects of the story. The fact that the creatures are done with practical make-up effects that look rather impressive for the realism and great they look in design and movement is another key factor here, and the only real flaws come from the beginnings of their life. The trouble it goes to set her up as a goofy klutz only to be saved by the werewolf curse is way too clichéd and feels too overwrought to be of much originality. As well, the whole thing is dropped once they get to the castle anyway, leaving the inclusion rather curious. Otherwise, there's not much to dislike here.

This film captures the essence of Tom Sawyer. The wonder and freedom of childhood, and the struggles of growing up. Johnny Whitaker gives the best performance of his career, portraying Tom as mischievous and clever, yet lovable and innocent. This is not the Tom so often portrayed in films, who is a conniving brat. This is the Tom of the book who gets in trouble because he is curious and adventurous, whose mind wanders in church and school, and who stretches the truth or even fibs without malicious intent.
The rest of the cast is excellent, The production appears to be on location and is very authentic, and the music is well done. This is a true musical in that the lyrics serve to move the story along. If you like musicals, this is for you. If you don't, then concentrate on the lyrics and what they are telling you about the central character.

I have to say that I do like the plot of this movie. I thought it was different, it certainly isn't something I've seen before. However, This is clearly a made for TV kids movie. The script is cheesy (normal for Disney, though) and poorly directed. They just don't make it seem real. That seems to be one of Disney's biggest problems lately, they make these movies that are supposed to be inspirational or lesson learning for kids, but they're too unrealistic. This follows suit in the Disney portfolio.
I think it's worth watching once or twice but it's no masterpiece. If you like Disney, you'll like Starstruck. Even if you don't like Disney, you might find it mildly enjoyable.

I was in the audience for Eating Out (Part One) at the LGBT Frameline film festival and, frankly, would have walked out if I hadn't been trapped in the middle of the row. That having been said, I really enjoyed this sequel to a sequel of a sequel. The downside is that either the acting is still facile and sophomoric (the fatal flaw in the earlier film) or the direction was lacking. The upside is that the snappy one-liners are now really zingy one-liners, which may indicate that the problem was with the direction and not the cast. Confessionally, the nudity was a huge(okay, pun intended) plus. Michael E.R. Walker, in a supporting role,does double duty. If you want a deep,thought-provoking film that probes the gay psyche, this is not your film. If you would like to laugh (a lot) and, yes, be titillated, you won't go wrong.

As the Arthur prophecy seems to indeed be unfolding before her, Allie finds herself in the protectorate role, guarding Will against the forces of Mordred who're out to destroy Arthur at his every appearance down the centuries, whose destruction would plunge the world into another Dark Age.

I don't really watch Disney channel movies anymore but I had to watch this movie because I'm a big fan of the book.
There are a LOT of changes in the plot but I think the Disney channel transformed the story into something that most people can enjoy. The film was a little boring to me at some parts, and the plot got forced at one point.

His younger brother, who senses an opportunity for adventure, begs to go along. They arrive on a creepy island bearing their family name, where they learn that their grandfather was a renowned codebreaker who amassed considerable wealth but disappeared leaving no record of his fortune.

Kyle (Jim Verraros) understandably falls in love with nude model Troy (Marco Dapper). However Troy is ashamed of past gay experiences he had and wants to be str8. So Kyle pretends HE'S str8 and used to be gay to lure Troy into bed. Meanwhile Kyle's ex Marc (Brett Chukerman) finds this out and now HE wants to get Troy into bed…
OK–I HATED the original "Eating Out". It was boring, stupid, unfunny and kept teasing the audience that we were gonna see some hot man on man action–but we never did. The acting was dreadful too. As you can see the plot of this one is ridiculous too–but this movie is so entertaining who cares? It moves quickly (it's only 80 minutes), looks great and is much funnier than the original. Also we see plenty of hot guy on guy kissing, gay sex (not explicit) and frontal nudity on Dapper and Chukerman (both of who are very handsome with great bodies).

American History X is a movie of its own. It has a little bit of everything in the way it touches you. This of course making it a very though provoking film. There isn't a genre you can place this film in because it is a not a crime story, action or even a simple drama instead it is a humanistic thriller. What it is about, is the battle over ourselves.
Who better than to display these wild but common complexities within people than Edward Norton. The range he shows here is astounding in only his fifth movie. Norton plays Derek Vinyard, a skin head that realizes through cruel yet necessary events in his life that he has gone down the wrong path. When he comes out of jail he attempts to stop his brother played Edward Furlong from going down the same road he had done. Through all his efforts though some things just prove to be inevitable. Avery Brooks also gives a great performance as Derek Vinyard's former teacher and now principal of his former school. His words may not be of the most inspiring but his actions and messages sent across are subtle yet strong and to the point.

Here's a film about and enacted by two children. Although there are adults in the film, they are there to add some authenticity, drama and, at times, comedy relief. The younger of the two boys, Dexter (Joseph Mazzello) is dying of AIDS; the older boy, Eric (Brad Renfro), is something of a sociopath. A lad of the South, Eric lives with his divorced mother in an unidentified city in the upper reaches of the Mississippi River (St. Paul, Minneapolis?). His innate hostility coupled with his marked southern accent does little to endear him to his peer group. So Eric is something of an outcast and has few friends…until he meets his next-door neighbor. He and Dexter become fast, though tenuous, friends. The friendship solidifies as the story segues into a quest for an AIDS cure which takes them on a Tom Sawyer trek down the Mississippi River with lots of adventures. One later scene, which will be thought of as emotional and something of a tear jerker, is truly uplifting and brings to the fore the true theme of the film. A first time effort by director Peter Horton, its theme was not one to garner any great box-office success. But it is well worth a video rental. (Brad Renfro, by the way, proves that his brilliant performance in The Client was not a fluke. And he did it without Tommmy Lee Jones & Susan Sarandan).

John Waters' movies are perhaps acquired taste (read: first class TRASH!), but "Cry-Baby" is a fairly accessible and comical romp, complete with great music, very likable performances and a moody 50's atmosphere. Obviously mocking "Grease", the story is set in a Baltimore high school where teen idol Johnny Depp leads the "Drapes" thug gang versus the chic and fancy "Squares". The hormones work at maximum power and Depp's character inevitably falls for the most popular square-girl in school. Arguments like these can only be settled with rough fights and…dance contests! Johnny Depp and Amy Locane are both great in their lead roles, but it's the supportive cast that impresses the most. More particularly ex-porn star Traci Lords, Kim McGuire as Hatchet-Face (you can't but stare at her grimaces), Iggy Pop and Ricky Lake (as Depp's wild sister in a constant state of pregnancy). The gags are more tasteful than usual but all John Waters' trademarks are still present. "Cry-Baby" is a strangely sexy film that'll definitely bring a smile on your face. Recommended!

Lenny Abrahamson directed the excellent low budget Dublin film ADAM & PAUL so I was eager to see what this newer production was like. WHAT RICHARD DID isn't as good as that film, although it has some promise and typically realistic performances. The best thing about it is Abrahamson's moody direction, which makes you feel every moment of a torrid and emotional storyline.
Unfortunately, WHAT RICHARD DID is also rather slow and lacking in incident. The storyline is a very simple one that drags out a bit, especially in the latter half, and the almost entire lack of an ending is a disappointment in itself. It's a very realistic movie with a solid script, and Jack Reynor does well in a complex leading performance. But after ADAM & PAUL I expected more, and what I got was merely adequate.

Ah, the pain of the teenage years, especially when you're the scourge of your classmates. Coming through the Rye captures those times through such insightful, understanding eyes it seems a bit autobiographical; and sure enough, in the Q&A post screening at the Austin Film Festival, writer/director James Steven Sadwith acknowledged that he was the teenager with a passion for finding Salinger, and this film is based on his experience. Another interesting revelation during the session was that the film's star, Alex Wolff, related that his grandfather, father, and brother all passed the same copy of J. D. Salinger's Catcher in the Rye onto sons and brother when they were 12-13 years old.

Tony Bill's "My Bodyguard" seems to be a film that has been forgotten. Thanks to the Fox cable channel, it turned up the other night. It doesn't seem possible this movie is twenty five years old already. Not having seen it when it was released, we took a chance and it paid off handsomely.
The film addresses the bullying in schools, a nightmare for those students that appear weak, or easy marks for these predators to make a name for themselves among their peers, at the others expense. Unfortunately, no one pays attention to the ones being abused and Hollywood, in general, takes the bully's side in many occasions, at the expense of the nerd, or the ones suffering the harassment.

I thought this movie was the most fun and most funniest I've seen in a while at the movies. I saw this Opening Night and I was very skeptic and worried because I loved the trailers but I've seen other comedies in the past were the trailers were so funny but the movie overall wasn't funny and was so disappointing. The story follows Rusty Griswold as he takes his family on a road-trip vacation to Walley World because he went there when he was a kid with his family and he wants to reconnect with his family and spice things up with his Wife. I thought this was the funniest movie I have seen since The Wedding Ringer, which came out in January of this year. I'm a big Vacation films fan and I was so excited about the son taking over Clark's place and Ed Helms succeeded big time as Rusty Griswold. It was great seeing Christina Applegate in this film as Rusty's wife and as well of course seeing Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo return. It was also surprising to see Leslie Mann as Audrey, Rusty's Sister, Chris Hemsworth as her Husband and nice seeing a few surprising people appear. The kids in the movie did a great job but the small kid needed his mouth cleaned out, he used a lot of language in the film. The story was so relate-able and was so much fun to see and watch. This Vacation movie also reminded me as well of the 2013 Hit-Summer road trip comedy "We're the Millers" which I also loved. Parents should not bring their Teenagers and their young kids, this is not appropriate for teens under 17 because of the constant language, some nudity and the raunchy/crude sexual humor/situations. There was moments in the film where it was awkward and sorta uncomfortable but it was a good, fun, funny movie. There has been so many bad reviews, complaints for this movie since it's been filming, it's not a remake or a reboot people, it's basically a continuation after "Vegas Vacation." There was maybe one or two slow parts in the movie but besides that, I loved this movie. If you want to go see this and have a good, fun time, this is the movie to come to, don't come to this movie very serious and expecting it not to be funny because trust me, it's hilarious. I'm going to see it again in a few days and I can't wait to watch it again. Vacation deserves a lot more praise because it's such a funny, funny movie and it's probably this years "We're the Millers." Hilarious, fun movie!!!!!

Kyle quickly moves on the Caleb-is-gay campaign to benefit them, but his motives aren't entirely altruistic. He longs for Marc, a desirable hottie who's Gwen's gay roommate. Unfortunately for Kyle, Marc only has eyes for Caleb. Kyle's plan: Get Caleb to date Marc so it'll bring Caleb closer to Gwen while putting himself (Kyle) in proximity with Marc (their true targets). But as Gwen starts putting the moves on her roommate's new boyfriend, and as Kyle becomes increasingly jealous of Caleb's time spent with Marc, and as Marc persists in laying the foundations for a long-term relationship with Caleb, it becomes a question of how long the deception can continue before something gives?

Having seen numerous 'funny' or supposedly funny queer films over the years, I have begun to believe that the gay romantic comedy was doomed.
While films like TRICK and others of its nature are pretty, much like cotton candy at the state fair, it's pretty but eventually it makes you kind of sick.

Masquerading as a Christian social worker, Bree, not telling him either of her true identity or her transgender status, bails Toby out of jail and tells him she will take him to Los Angeles, where Toby has aspirations of becoming a porn actor and reconnecting with his biological father. As Bree and Toby take their trans-American journey which includes some interesting encounters along the way, Bree has to decide what is best for Toby while having the foremost goal of making it back to Los Angeles for the scheduled surgery.

I was excited to be involved in a film concerning trans-gendering. I was particularly happy about the exquisite care taken by the writer/director, Duncan Tucker, and the stars Felicity Huffman and Kevin Zeger to NOT trivialize or titillate the issue. A very good film. The humor and relevance of this film seems, to me, to be self-explanatory in this global and interactive world. I think this film could be educational, entertaining and a calming influence in a world that is increasingly diverse.

Left Films are a UK distribution firm known for championing and releasing indie and small time British and Irish horror features. Many of the titles they release would otherwise be overlooked and are usually made by people who are low on cash but high on the love of the genre. ONUS, an upcoming Left Films release, is no different.

His much younger brother Zeke is called upon to replace his brother and marry Havana. Zeke already hates Havana because he believes she is what changed his brother. She begins looking through everything that was Peter's, and Zeke rightly deduces that Peter hid something from her. He finds the money, along with a newspaper article that mentions Peter as the prime suspect in the robbery. Zeke initially uses the cash to trick his bride into doing housework. Later he shows it to the elders, who deem that it should be returned to its rightful owners. Zeke and Havana (who claims innocence of the source of the money) are sent on a quest back to the US to return the money.

I would recommend this film for anyone who finds themselves interested in sexuality in general or especially teen sexual awakenings. The plot itself is not extremely gripping but the actors bring a certain raw, candid look at "graduating" adolescence and embarking upon the lifelong trip of finding one's identity.

It seems as though all the great sci-fi takes forever to become films. It took over seventy years to give John Carter his big-screen debut. I had a copy of L. Ron Hubbard's Battlefield Earth that claimed that it would become a motion picture soon, but that never happened until almost twenty years later (and many would probably argue that it should not have been made). Ender's Game is another one of the best sci-fi novels I've read, and a film for it has been in development for something like ten years. So, in 2013, I couldn't have been more excited.
Ender's Game is kinda like The Hunger Games set in outer space, only more aggressive, more fantastic, and more original. EG has its fair share of special-effects-laden spectacle, with massive swarms of spaceships and incredible planetscapes filling up the screen. Fortunately, it's not all just action for the sake of action, it is all a direct consequence of the story. When the space battles aren't breaking out, the film still moves very fast with loads of character-driven conflicts.

This could have been a really good movie, but it wore out its one-joke theme – straight guys who love nothing better than masturbating together while watching porn – about the third time it played out. That may be a powerful and persistent fantasy and an infallible source of amusement for lots of gay men, but it's not for me, and watching it in a movie gets old very fast. It wasn't even remotely believable the first time it happened, and it got less believable every time.
The second recurring theme has one man stripping completely naked and standing still for another, fully clothed man to ogle. Each of the five main characters did it once each, with another of the five (two, in one instance) as the clothed ogler. Was that supposed to be funny too, or was it just an extremely clumsy way to get as much full frontal (but as sterile as a nun) nudity as possible into the movie? So the movie is almost unbearably contrived, stupid and unfunny. It has two redeeming strengths, though.

He tells of his life at three primary points in his life: at age nine (when his parents divorced), age sixteen and age thirty-four. The confusing aspect of the story is that he tells of alternate life paths, often changing course with the flick of a decision at each of those ages. One life path has him ultimately married to Elise, a depressed woman who never got over the unrequited love she had for a guy named Stefano when she was a teenager and who asked Nemo to swear that when she died he would sprinkle her ashes on Mars. A second life path has him married to Jean. Their life is one of luxury but one also of utter boredom. This is the kind of film you don't see too often. It is truly a visual masterpiece. I haven't heard about this french director, but "Mr Nobody" really blew my mind in all its images, dreams, romance and complexity. The movie has similarities to films by Michel Gondry but i think this film was more magical. Dreamlike and existential films. Some might think Mr Nobody is too complex, too demanding. It is not for everyone, but I loved it. Like other surreal movies, Peter Jacksons "The Lovely Bones", and "Synechdohe: New York" "Dr. Parnassus", "Micmacs"- these dreamlike and "difficult" films must be terribly expensive to produce and I ask myself how can the companies go through with these productions? These flicks never generate big box office money. Im amazed that they still make this kinds of demanding visual movies for cinema. And glad.

I wanted to like this movie. The synopsis intrigued me, and the trailer led me to believe that there was some potential. However, what do you get when a Spanish director/writer use British actors to depict a portrayal of violence and the media in the United States? A lot of confusion.
This movie is well shot, conveys a message, and has several actors who, for better or worse, evoke an emotional response from the viewer. Sadly, the message conveyed is largely inaccurate (everything from the impact media has on children, to the notion of the permanence of death – which develops well before the age of 10 mind you, is one sided or flat out wrong), and aside from being a character piece for a few of the actors to showcase their talent, the film provides little novelty to the 'good child gone bad' genre as a whole. Although several of the characters come to life, they are poorly written, and at times, flat. As the movie progresses, it is almost as if the writer / director wrap up every stereotype about how the media is a terrible influence on children and serve it to the viewer on an over-sized platter.

Director/writer Michael Johnson has offered a wonderful film about finding the 'self'.
Here we have James Charm with an obsession for dead things like birds, insect, and wilderness dwelling creatures and sketching their dead bodies into his journal. James also visits a therapist, reluctantly. There is something bothering James and we the viewer are kept in the dark until the end of the story as to what he is depressed about.

I f you're looking for a friendly, family-oriented Christmas movie, do NOT watch this. A carnage filled Christmas delight, though mostly oriented towards the "guy" movie type. Goldberg has some great one liners and I have to say that I look forward to seeing him in other films because of this one. An actor or a film that doesn't take itself too seriously is what we need more of these days. People take themselves too seriously. And apparently this is too short to post. Death. Mayhem. Santa. Satan's offspring.

There's so much you can say about this work. Vivid characters, colours, and situations that practically leap off the screen into the theatre next to you. A wonderfully quirky, repeatedly startling story. Graceful low-key cinematography that turns slums and sideshows into an eerily beautiful netherworld, countless images that look like you could freeze them and hang them as inspirational totems for cults we have to hope don't exist. Jodorowsky paints with a heavy, vibrant brush, but it's the perfect tone for this primal-yet-humanizing tale.

I loved the movie It was great it is a great film for all people from 1 to 90 years old, I highly recommend it and buy it when it comes out, it has many funny scenes and many funny kids like Drake Kemper, He adds comedy even though he only has a small role, and most of the movie was filmed 3 years ago, but they sold it and they needed 8 more minutes so it has some from 2001-2005, It is interesting how it turned out and it is quite funny, if you have kids, preteens, or like family films , please enjoy the film

Based on the best selling novel by the same name, it was widely believed that this would be the next Diary of a Wimpy Kid, sadly it was not. Griffin Gluck was fantastic is his first starring role, but the rest of the cast really didn't have much chemistry, and overall the film just wasn't all that funny. Rafe Katchadorian (Gluck) is a troubled kid, who is sent to his third and final Middle School in the district. It's very strict and if he doesn't follow the rules, he could be headed to military school. Once he gets there, Rafe learns that his principle (Andrew Daly) is beyond strict and decides to get back at him by anonymous breaking not one, but all his rules, causing a school wide rebellion. The story seemed like a good one, but the truth is the pranks weren't all that extreme or funny. The kids in the theater laughed more at the preview before the film than they did at the pranks in the movie. There were also times in the film where you expected the typical crude middle school humor, and while the writers set it up, they never delivered the punch line. That's not the only issue with this film, the kids had some chemistry, but the family didn't. Lauren Graham was terrible, as her character was completely different than that of her kids. She had no connection to them or any idea what was going on with them. But for as bad as she was, it was nothing compared to how awful Rob Riggle was. I have never been a fan of his, but he was beyond annoying in this film, his personality is just so obnoxious and over the top, that the last place he belongs is in a family film. Finally, the whole animation angle brings the movie to a dead stop. Gluck's character is an artist and likes to draw, and at times throughout the film, his drawings come to life in his imagination and take the place of what's happening on the screen, often at the worst possible times. The bottom line, for young actors in a family film, Gluck and Thomas Barbusca did a terrific job, but the story fails to live up to expectations, the humor just isn't there, and the whole thing was full of scenes that should have been left on the cutting room floor.

Noting that this is a film that was shot in Chicago I was wondering if the folks who created Blackmail Boys had Peter LaBarbera in mind as the Christian writer who has a secret gay life that a pair of young men are about to expose?
It certainly is the wish dream of a lot of gay activists to expose a lot of these hucksters who are closet queers. As Porno Pete operates out of Chicago it would make a certain amount of sense.
